The police and judicial system set up in the Basque Country on the sidelines of the G7 is consequent: 17 prosecutors are mobilized, 300 provisional cells of custody have been installed. Objective for the government: to guarantee calm and avoid the excesses of activists on the sidelines of the summit. A device that they denounce precisely while the first appearances took place. Three German activists without a criminal record were sentenced to imprisonment.

Wednesday, they drove towards Biarritz, three days later they sleep in prison. In the meantime, a police check close to the city allowed the discovery of three German hoods, an ice-breaking hammer, a tear gas canister, a wrench and documents presented by the prosecutor's assistant as writings of the extreme left.

Then the Bayonne Criminal Court for the first immediate appearance of the reinforced device set up for the G7.

The sentence falls between 2 and 3 months in prison, with a warrant of committal, that is to say that the three defendants are immediately incarcerated. The sentence is also accompanied by a ban on French territory for 5 years.

If the charge of possession of the weapon was abandoned by the court, they were convicted of participating in a group for violence.

This jail sentence made the anti-G7 militants leap on the spot as these three Germans did not have a criminal record, and above all, the rally in question never took place.
