Don Juan Carlos undergoes from the early hours of this Saturday a heart operation, which according to medical sources, involves the placement of several bypasses. The father of the King entered late Friday night at the Quirón University Hospital in Pozuelo (Madrid), a private center. At the edge of 1:00 pm, Felipe VI and Doña Sofía arrived at the complex. The King drove his own vehicle. "It is underway," he told reporters when asked about the intervention.

"We have just arrived, let's see how it is", were the words pronounced by Felipe VI upon arrival, accompanied by Doña Sofía, sitting in the passenger seat of his Audi. Both the Monarch and his mother have been introduced to the hospital after being received by doctors from the center and while other users of the facility came or went to see their relatives. It is expected that depending on how Don Juan Carlos is, both Queen Letizia and Princess Leonor and Infanta Sofía, her granddaughters, go to the hospital.

"You will see me at the exit"

We will have to wait until the intervention ends to know the details of the operation, confirm the cause of the operation and know the health status of Don Juan Carlos. "You will see me at the exit," Don Juan Carlos said Friday night upon arrival at the hospital. Medical sources familiar with the operation explain that if everything goes smoothly and there are no complications, the King's father must spend two or three days in intensive care, then go to the plant.

The King's room will be a kind of suite, with a large sofa near the entrance bed in a room that has an adjoining room with its own entrance and sofas where visitors can stay. Next to this room is the bathroom that, as in any hospital, is fully adapted to the needs of the hospitalized.

Medical sources explain that, in any case, it could take about a couple of months for Don Juan Carlos to move normally, walk normally, and another month so he can be fully recovered. That, as long as there are no complications.
