The Astana Pro Team on Saturday won the first stage of the Vuelta, 2019 edition, in a time trial by team of 13.4 km, in 14 minutes 51 seconds and 08 tenths.
This victory offers the red leader jersey to Miguel Angel Lopez.
Behind the Kazakh team, the Deceuninck - Quick-Step takes second place at 2 seconds and Team Sunweb is 3rd at 5 seconds.
This first stage, particularly marked by the Jumbo-Visma collective team's favorite fall of the exercise, took place under a bright sun, with little or no wind, in a spectacular panorama in the middle of the salt flats of Torrevieja, ( South East).
For its 74th edition the Tour of Spain (La Vuelta 19), presents a route rich in tricky stages and arrived at the summit, it will end on September 15 in Madrid.
