“We share the president’s disappointment, we believe that the further constructive interaction is the right way,” said Myron Brilliant, Executive Vice President of the US Chamber of Commerce.

He noted that the Chamber of Commerce has always played an important role in the difficult economic relations between the United States and China.

“We do not want a deterioration in US-China relations,” Brilliant added.

Earlier, Trump called on American businesses to find an alternative to the Chinese market.

He also announced a response to China's new duties.
