Marine Le Pen commented on the possibility of Russia's return to the G8

“By opposing Russia’s return to the new G8, the EU shows us an absurd parody of the Cold War,” wrote Le Pen.

She noted that the anti-Russian ideology "is completely unproductive for the interests of European countries."

Earlier, a senior source in European structures said that the European Union opposed the return of Russia to the G-8 until the reasons why it was expelled were eliminated.

US leader Donald Trump said he supported the return of Russia to the G8 format. His French counterpart Emmanuel Macron also called this perspective appropriate.
