Second death from the listeriosis outbreak in Andalusia. A 72-year-old man affected by listeriosis and who had terminal cancer has died in recent hours, the Board reported Friday in his daily report on the outbreak.

This was announced by the spokesman of the Board on the occasion of the listeriosis outbreak, José Miguel Cisneros, at a press conference in Seville to publicize the evolution of this disease.

After raising the cases detected so far to 186, he announced the death of a 72-year-old man who had very special health characteristics.

He indicated that the deceased had "a terminal metastatic cancer" and was "in a palliative situation" and his death has coincided with the detection of listeriosis, although "the intake" of the contaminated product was not recorded.

However, he said that the analyzes that are going to be carried out must confirm whether the death was expressly due to the outbreak of listerioris that has triggered a food and health alert or was simply a "vulnerable patient" because of the cancer that has acquired listeriosis .
