The Ministry of Climate Change and Environment has implemented four initiatives on the occasion of the Year of Tolerance, including two initiatives launched by the Community Development Authority, with the participation of Beit Al-Khair Society. People in need of help in the state.

The ministry said in a statement posted on its page on the site «Twitter», that the initiative aimed to meet the needs of 1000 students with limited incomes in private charitable schools through the purchase of a new bag or provide stationery.

The initiative came after the initiative «Ghaf Al Khair», launched by the ministry last July in cooperation with the Community Development Authority in Dubai, with the aim of planting 200 Ghaf trees in the homes of senior citizens in the Emirate of Dubai.

The Minister of Climate Change and Environment, Dr. Thani Al-Zyoudi, said that the selection of Ghaf tree as a slogan for the Year of Tolerance gives further impetus to the efforts of the concerned authorities in the UAE to increase the green area by relying on local plants, especially the Ghaf tree.

He pointed to the place enjoyed by Ghaf trees with the late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan, may God rest his soul, and his keenness to increase their numbers, and to issue legislation and directives that prevent the cutting or damage to it.

During the month of Ramadan, the Minister of Climate Change and Environment and Ministry staff participated in the Suhour Alayna initiative, launched by the Community Development Authority, to distribute about 1150 Suhour meals daily, with the participation of volunteers, employees of sponsors and sponsoring companies.

The employees of the Ministry participated in the project «fasting fast», organized by the House of Goodness last Ramadan for fasting people of different nationalities, which was implemented in 41 locations, a total of 660 thousand meals and cost 6.6 million dirhams.
