Following an internal audit, it has been decided to report the former employee who in connection with this chose to terminate his employment with the public dental service.

Public dental services have contacted affected patients who have been in contact with the former employee. In addition, they have chosen to contact their new employers and notified them of the action plan of the Public Dental Care.

- Of course, it is sad to have to make a notification concerning a former employee. Folktandvården together with the employee have drawn up an action plan aimed at helping to rectify the shortcomings that we have noted. When the person has now decided to leave the public dental service, we can no longer take responsibility for the completion of the action plan, says Bengt Vikman chief dentist.

The investigation showed that the dentist repeatedly made quick assessments and missed significant medical history.

- It is about dentists who have been there to meet our patients. One example has been that the dentist has been too quick to fix certain things in the patient, and has not taken note of the patient's medical history. Therefore, it has led to miscalculations on a number of occasions. Then we also know that it can be wrong sometimes, but in this case it has happened too many times and we must therefore report it to the Inspection for Health and Care, says Bengt Wikman chief dentist.
