The head of the UOC-KP sued the representative of the PCU
The deputy head of the department for external church relations of the non-canonical Orthodox Church of Ukraine (PCU), Evstraty Zorya, said that the leader of the non-canonical Ukrainian Orthodox Church of the Kiev Patriarchate (UOC-KP) Filaret (Denisenko) sued him.
He announced this on his Facebook page.
“From the office of the metropolis they told me that a letter had arrived from the Shevchenko court. Patriarch Filaret is suing Archbishop Eustratius for “defending honor and dignity,” wrote Zorya.
According to him, similar claims against him had previously been filed by the monastery at the Kiev Pechersk Lavra and the Union of Orthodox Journalists, but the plaintiffs allegedly lost the court.
Earlier, Verkhovna Rada deputy Yevgeny Muraev called the PCU a stillborn structure.
In July, the head of the UOC-KP Filaret expressed the opinion that the PCU has no future.
Political analyst and publicist Yuri Golub in an interview with the FAN praised Ukraine for receiving tomos about autocephaly.
