The National Police have arrested a multiple rapist in Palma, who is accused of having sexually assaulted at least two women and tried with two others. The arrested man is a 29-year-old man of Romanian origin, who lacks residence in the Balearic capital and traveled with his car throughout the city.

The investigation began after a woman reported that a man had sexually assaulted her at the end of July. According to his statement, the victim was about 00:30 hours at a bus stop on the Avenues when the detainee stopped with his car and offered to take her to his destination. The woman accepted, got into the vehicle and the man took the opportunity to deviate from the route and go to an isolated place, where he sexually assaulted and hit her, as reported by the National Police.

A few days later, at the beginning of August, about 11:00 pm, the detainee attacked another woman who was walking her dog in the area of ​​Cala Mayor. The man approached him from behind and complimented her. Although the victim tried to flee from him, the arrested man approached from behind, grabbed her by the hair and tried to drag her to an area of ​​nearby vegetation and without lighting, while throwing kicks at the dog. The victim resisted, struggled and fell to the ground. The woman's screams alerted the neighbors, who went out to the balconies, and this caused the aggressor to leave the woman and flee.

The National Police has managed to identify the alleged author, after obtaining evidence and evidence that incriminate him in the facts. They suspect that the same man may also be related to a sexual assault against a woman in late May, who was sexually assaulted in the area of ​​the Polygon of Levante, as well as with an attempt to another woman he met in a bar the Avenues, to which he took strongly by the neck maintaining a struggle without attacking it sexually.

During the investigation, the agents found out that the detainee does not have a known address and that he was moving in his vehicle throughout Palma, until he was finally located by a duty-free police officer near the Plaza de Toros on August 19.

The investigation remains open and it is not ruled out that there could be more victims.
