The Investigative Committee of Russia and the Commission of the Interstate Aviation Committee completed work at the site of emergency landing A321, flying from Moscow to Simferopol. This was stated in the press service of the airline "Ural Airlines".

“On August 22, the IC of Russia and the IAC commission completed work at the scene. At the moment, engineers and aircraft technicians at Ural Airlines are working at the scene of the incident, the press release said.

It is reported that the liner is completely ready for evacuation. Fuel was pumped out of the tanks, the elements where the liquids and gases were under pressure were removed. All valuable blocks and engines were also removed.

“The aircraft is fully prepared for evacuation: the fuel has been removed, system elements containing liquids and gases - accumulators, fire cylinders and oxygen cylinders - are discharged or removed,” the airline said.

According to a TASS source in the operations headquarters, more than 2.5 tons of fuel were pumped out of the tanks, and in the near future, experts will begin to cut the plane using hydraulic scissors. “The work is planned to be completed by Monday (August 26. - RT ),” the agency quoted the interlocutor as saying.

Meanwhile, work on the removal of the aircraft from the emergency site will begin on August 23 after coordination with the traffic police. At the same time, the press service specified that the use of any parts of the A321 who had made a hard landing was not planned.

Match data

The IAC noted that the record from the flight recorders has already been decrypted and transferred to the commission of inquiry.

“The work with the black boxes has been completed, the record has been decrypted, the voices of the crew and the airport controller have been identified,” a source in the committee told TASS.

According to him, an interim report on the results of the investigation will be prepared within 30 days. The IAC Commission is assisted by experts from the Federal Air Transport Agency and the French Civil Aviation Safety Investigation and Analysis Bureau (BEA). The latter participate in the investigation under the Convention on International Civil Aviation as representatives of the developing state of the aircraft and engines.

The Investigative Committee, in turn, clarified that representatives of the department began to analyze data from flight recorders.

“Currently, investigators have begun to study and analyze the data of the seized flight recorders. The information obtained will be examined and compared with the video recordings of eyewitnesses, the audio conversations of the pilots, the testimonies of passengers and crew, as well as with other materials obtained during the initial investigative actions to restore a complete and objective picture, ”says the website of the Moscow Interregional Investigation Department for Transport of the IC of Russia .

“A Miracle on a Corn Field”

Recall, on August 15, the Ural Airlines Airbus A321 aircraft was forced to make an emergency landing a few kilometers from Zhukovsky Airport in the Moscow Region. On board the liner, traveling from Moscow to Simferopol, there were more than 230 people, including over 40 children.

The cause of the forced landing was the entry of birds into both engines of the liner. The aircraft was controlled by commander Damir Yusupov and co-pilot Georgy Murzin.

“The decision changed several times ... I planned to gain a certain height, linger on it, work out a failure (engine. - RT ), make a decision, calculate everything. But, as it turned out later, there was not much time at all, ”Yusupov said after the incident.

As a result, the liner was put "on the belly" without landing gear. According to the crew commander. this was done for security reasons.

Subsequently, the media dubbed the incident "a miracle in the corn field."

“He did what he must”

As the head of the Federal Air Transport Agency Alexander Neradko later said, the pilots made the "only right decision." Thanks to him, it was possible to avoid casualties and fire on board, although the fuel tanks of the aircraft were full. Nevertheless, 76 passengers, including 19 children, sought medical help. However, only one woman needed hospitalization. The co-pilot George Murzin also suffered. He was diagnosed with chest injuries.

The skill of the pilots and the professionalism of the crew as a whole were highly appreciated by the passengers themselves, members of the public and officials. So, the President of Russia Vladimir Putin awarded the pilots the title of Heroes of Russia, and the rest of the team he was awarded the Order of Courage.

At the same time, the commander of A321 noted that he did not consider himself a hero, since he simply did his job.

“Many say that it’s a hero, but honestly, I don’t feel like a hero at all, because I did what I had to do: saved the plane, passengers, crew. I think this was the only solution. I don’t consider myself a hero, ”said Damir Yusupov on the Russia 1 television channel.
