“Although technical details have yet to be worked out, Secretary Esper and Minister Akar have confirmed their intention to take immediate coordinated steps to implement the framework agreement, as evidenced by the establishment of a joint focal point in Turkey,” the Pentagon said.
Earlier, the Turkish Ministry of Defense reported that a six-member United States delegation arrived in the Turkish province of Sanliurfa on the border with Syria.
It was noted that the trip was organized as part of the Center for Joint Operations of Turkey and the United States to form a "security zone" in northern Syria.
