The Competition Authority has authorized the acquisition of OGC Nice by the British petrochemical group Ineos, "without subjecting it to special conditions," she said Wednesday.

"The Authority has noted that, at the end of the operation, the new entity will hold only a very limited position in the various sectors of activity of the professional football clubs, and in particular in the market for the transfer of professional players, "she said in a statement.

The amount of the transaction, which has not been made public, is close to one hundred million euros, source close to the file.

Ineos had notified July 22 to the police of competition his plan to take control of the company that runs the club Nice.

Ineos, which specializes in the production of petrochemicals, had already acquired FC Lausanne-Sport in 2017, which is now in second Swiss.

OGC Nice is in second place in Ligue 1 after two days of championship, and continues its summer market.

The British group also bought the Sky cycling team this year and won the Tour de France last month.
