Sudan's transitional military council has issued a constitutional decree to form the country's sovereign council, headed by Lieutenant General Abdul Fattah al-Burhan.

In a press conference held yesterday evening, the Chairman of the Political Committee of the Military Council, Lt. Gen. Shams al-Din al-Kabbashi, announced that the Sovereign Council has 11 members.

The decree also presided over the proof of the Sovereign Council, and included members of Sudan's Transitional Military Council Vice-President, General Mohamed Hamdan Doklo, "Humaidati".

The council included Lieutenant General Shamsuddin Kabbashi, Lieutenant General Yasser Abdulrahman Hassan Atta, Major General Engineer Ibrahim Jaber Karim, in addition to the candidates of "Freedom and Change", Hassan Mohamed Idris Qazi, Siddique Tower Cafe, Mohammed Alfaki Suleiman, Mohammed Hassan Othman Taayishi, and Aisha Musa Al-Saeed, and please Nicolas Abdul-Masih.

The proof will be sworn in before the Judicial Council, while members of the Sovereign Council will take the oath before the President of the Sovereign Council.

The transitional military council received earlier yesterday, the names of the candidates of the forces of freedom and change to the sovereign council. This came during an urgent meeting between the "transitional military" and "freedom and change" to approve the final list of the Council of Sovereignty.

The forces of freedom and change have decided on the five candidates for the sovereign council after lengthy meetings that lasted for hours at the home of the National Security Party in Omdurman.

Prior to that, sources in the forces of freedom and change, said that the head of the SPLM-North Abdul Aziz al-Helu, threatened to resume fighting if the friend of the Tower was selected as the candidate of the forces of change for the Council of Sovereignty.
