The meeting with Foreign Minister Javad Zarif took place on Tuesday, but the Swedish shipping company Stena Bulk's Erik Hånell does not want to go into what was said.

- We all hope that this will be resolved as soon as possible and that they will set up a meeting at that level is obviously positive for the development. But if it resolves because of that, I leave it unsaid, he says.

Stena Impero, owned by Stena Bulk but sailing under the British flag, was seized by Iran in the Strait of Hormuz when the ship was on its way to Saudi Arabia. 23 people are on board the ship.

- The crew is feeling well under the circumstances, but now they have been sitting for a month and are under enormous mental pressure, says Erik Hånell.

"Our ship did not violate any laws"

Iran's Foreign Minister Javad Zarif gave his views on Stena Impero during a questioning session in Stockholm on Tuesday. Zarif began by commenting on the Iranian ship seized by Gibraltar, but now released.

The vessel was accused of being on its way to Syria with oil in violation of the sanctions.

- Our ship did not violate any laws, but so did this ship (Stena Impero). Now the legal process must have its way. But we are keen to speed up the process so that this case, which is not our fault, can be closed, said Zarif, who also expressed sympathy with the crew at Stena Impero.
