- I want you as a resident of Lerum municipality to feel that no one should treat you differently because you love another LGBT person. You should feel safe no matter what sexual orientation you have, ”Alexander Abenius (M), chairman of the municipal council in Lerum, says in a press release.

It was at the beginning of August that a family in Gråbo discovered the broken flagpole at a school. The mother took pictures and shared on social media which attracted a lot of attention.

The incident was reported to the police by a municipality that has now arranged a new flagpole. In a press release, the municipality writes, among other things, that the school must convey values such as the inviolability of human life, the freedom and integrity of the individual and the equal value of all people.

- We were angry and sad that our Pride flag was burnt down and looked at the incident very seriously. We have invited all adults to talk to their children and young people about everyone's equal value, so we will continue to work on this when we now meet our students again, says the Ljungvik School's principal Bente Törnqvist in the press release.
