“Since the beginning of the fire hazard period, 217 forest fires have been extinguished in the republic on an area of ​​more than 8 thousand hectares. The extinguishing efficiency during the first day amounted to over 30%, which corresponds to the normative indicators for the territory of the region, ”the statement says.

The head of the region, Aisen Nikolaev, expressed gratitude to the employees of the Federal Aviation Protection Agency for the assistance provided to Yakutia in the fight against fire, as well as to local authorities and all those people who extinguish forest fires locally.

Earlier, the Ministry of Ecology of Yakutia reported that according to data on August 21, 34 fires in the service and control zones were eliminated over the past day in the republic.

On August 1, the Ministry for Emergencies called the cause of the spread of fires in Siberia.
