The accident occurred on the old E22 just before midnight, the night of Tuesday.
"Something happened there that caused him to slip into a middle row, and it became a major collision," says Magnus Fagerlund, internal commander of the police.
The man was taken to the hospital in Kristianstad, but later died in the morning from his injuries. Relatives are informed.
