“After studying all legal aspects, Pakistan decided to appeal to the UN International Court of Justice regarding the status of Kashmir,” Qureshi told ARY News.

Kashmir is a disputed territory between India and Pakistan.

The issue of Kashmir’s affiliation has repeatedly become an occasion for armed conflict between neighboring states.

On August 5, the upper house of the Indian Parliament adopted a resolution repealing Art. 370 of the Constitution, under which the state of Jammu and Kashmir is guaranteed a special autonomous status.

Subsequently, Pakistan decided to lower the level of diplomatic relations with India and suspended trade with it.
