One person has died and nine were injured on Tuesday in a frontal crash between a car and a coach on the AP-7 motorway, passing through Amposta (Tarragona).

The accident occurred at 4:25 am at kilometer 328 of the AP-7 , where for reasons that are still being investigated there has been a frontal collision between a tourist and a coach .

The Catalan Traffic Service (SCT) has reported that as a result of the crash the tourist driver has died and nine passengers of the coach have been injured.

Of these, four have been evacuated in less serious condition to the Verge de la Cinta de Tortosa hospital and two to the Amposta hospital, while three others have suffered minor injuries and have been transferred to these same two hospitals.

The accident has forced the AP-7 to be cut in both directions of the march, so that traffic is diverted through exit 41 , in the south direction, and through exit 42 , in the north direction, towards the N-340.

In the incident, fourteen patrols of the Mossos d'Esquadra, eight provisions of the Generalitat Firefighters and four ambulances and the Psychological Support Service of the Emergency Medical System (SEM) have worked.

With this victim there are 111 people who have died in a traffic accident this year in the interurban road network of Catalonia.
