This was stated by Deputy Minister of Roads and Urban Development of Iran, Mohammad Rastad.

“The Bender-Abbas court is considering the case of the British tanker and will make its decision, given the nature of the violations,” TASS quoted him as saying.

He emphasized that “Stena Impero was detained in accordance with a court decision” and evidence related to the incident has already been submitted.

Britain previously joined the United States international coalition to patrol the Strait of Hormuz to ensure the safety of commercial shipping.

On July 26, US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo said that Washington had sent requests to several European and Asian countries with a proposal to join the security coalition in the Strait of Hormuz.

Tanker Stena Impero under the flag of Great Britain was detained by Iran on July 19. On board were 23 crew members, including three Russians.
