Argentina's Lionel Messi (FC Barcelona) and Sweden's Zlatan Ibrahimovic (LA Galaxy) are among the ten players vying for the Puskas prize of the year's goal of the year, announced Monday.

Messi was selected for a goal against Real Betis in March 2019 and Ibrahimovic for a goal against Toronto FC in September 2018.

Last year, the Puskas prize, named after the former international and prolific Hungarian striker, went to the Egyptian Mohamed Salah (Liverpool).

The other contenders are Brazilian Matheus Cunha (RB Leipzig), Italy's Fabio Quagliarella (Sampdoria), Colombian Juan Fernando Quintero (River Plate, ARG), Englishman Andros Townsend (Crystal Palace) and Hungarian Daniel Zsori (FC). Debrecen).

Three players are also in the lineup: Cameroon's Ajara Nchout, for a goal against New Zealand, American Amy Rodriguez (Utah Royals) and Northern Ireland's Billie Simpson (Cliftonville).

The general public can vote until September 1st on the most beautiful achievement of the year. The three goals with the most votes will then be submitted to a jury composed of Legends of Fifa, a group of former international players who will designate the best goal of the year.
