“I’m sure that on the basis of this document, which stipulates the need for specifically agreed decisions that we spoke about earlier, the issue of using cell phones will be resolved in every school in stages,” Tuz quoted Kuznetsova as saying.

She noted that the document restricts the use of mobile phones by children at school, including in the interests of their safety.

“At the same time, the developers of the initiative provide for“ exceptions to the rules ”, for example, for children who need to use such devices for health reasons,” the Commissioner for Children's Rights under the President of Russia emphasized.

Kuznetsova welcomed the completion of the development of this document by the beginning of the school year, however, she expressed the opinion that the recommendations on this issue "had to be done a long time, since the discussion of this topic has been going on for more than a year."

Earlier, the Ministry of Education prepared a document with recommendations for the regions of Russia on the possible restriction of the use of smartphones in schools.

The first deputy chairman of the State Duma Committee on Education and Science, Oleg Smolin, in an interview with RT, supported turning off mobile phones or putting them into silent mode during lessons in schools, if their use for educational purposes is not intended.

The honored teacher of Russia, candidate of pedagogical sciences Alexander Snegurov in an interview with URA.RU supported this initiative, which will allow children to adequately perceive the material and eliminate “provocations” in relation to teachers.
