Belgium is the 10th country interested in the organization of the Women's World 2023 which will compete for 32 teams and whose host country will be designated next May, said Fifa Monday.

At the end of July, Fifa announced that in the face of the "resounding" success of the 2019 World Cup in France and to "promote the growth of women's football", its Council decided to change the format of the World Cup-2023 from 24 to 32 teams.

Nine countries had expressed interest in organizing the competition prior to this format change, namely Australia, Brazil, Argentina, Bolivia, Colombia, Japan, South Africa, New Zealand and South Korea (possibly with North Korea).

On Monday, FIFA announced that the Belgian Football Federation had also expressed interest.

The ten federations have until September 2 to confirm their interest and until December 13 to submit their application.

The host country of the World Cup-2023 will be designated next May.

Winned by the United States, and in addition to some polemics around the refereeing, the Mondial-2019 gave rise to some unbalanced meetings during the group stage, including the 13-0 defeat of Thailand against the future champions of the world. The question of a too heterogeneous level is precisely raised by the critics of an enlarged World.
