Since June 11, about 40 illegal workers have set up a picket line in front of the Chronopost site in Alfortville, near Paris. According to them, the company, a subsidiary of La Poste, employs them under "unacceptable" conditions. "We work at night, but they do not pay us during night hours," stresses spokesman Amadou Fofana, "our overtime is also unpaid, but we have to do it because Chronopost people know we do not have And if we refuse, they'll fire us. The company, specialized in the transport of small goods, returns the responsibility of the file to its subcontractor, the company Derichebourg which, according to the Solidaires trade union Val-de-Marne, also makes use of a temporary agency for recruitment. But strikers say Chronopost is aware of their situation. In fact, to sign their employment contracts, undocumented migrants use "aliases", that is to say the names of some of their relatives in a regular situation. "Two to three people can work with the same papers," says Amadou Fofana. And after, they say they are not aware. I do not agree."

The strikers ask to be regularized and hired by Chronopost. Since the beginning of the installation of their camp, several tens of undocumented workers employed in similar conditions elsewhere in Ile-de-France have joined their picket line.
