South Africa coach Rassie Erasmus unveiled Sunday a pre-list of 36 players, not surprisingly, for the 2019 World Cup in Japan (20 September-2 November).

The final list will be known August 26 and it will therefore include five fewer names at the end of a four-day course that will end Thursday in Bloemfontein.

The third line Marcell Coetzee, injured against Argentina (24-18) this weekend, will not make the trip to Japan. No more than winger Aphiwe Dyantyi, revelation of the year 2018, or the experienced N.8 Warren Whiteley, both wounded long time.

On the other hand, the pillars Steven Kitschoff and Tendaï "The Beast" Mtawarira should be there. Just like Captain Siya Kolisi, Toulousain Cheslin Kolbe, Toulon Eben Etzebeth or Montpelliérain François Steyn.

South Africa kick off the World Cup against the reigning New Zealand champions on 21 September, before facing Canada, Italy and Namibia in Pool B.

Forwards (21): Lizo Gqoboka, Steven Kitshoff, Vincent Koch, Frans Malherbe, Tendai Mtawarira, Trevor Nyakane, Thomas of the Roof, Schalk Brits, Malcolm Marx, Bongi Mbonambi, Eben Etzebeth, Lood of Jager, Franco Mostert, Marvin Orie, RG Snyman, Rynhardt Elstadt, Siya Kolisi (Cape), Francois Louw, Kwagga Smith, Pieter Steph du Toit, Duane Vermeulen.

Back (15): Warrick Gelant, Willie le Roux, Cheslin Kolbe, Makazole Mapimpi, Sibusiso Nkosi, Lukhanyo Am, Damian Allende, Andre Esterhuizen, Jesse Kriel, Francois Steyn, Elton Jantjies, Handre Pollard, Herschel Jantjies, Faf Klerk, Cobus Reinach.
