How much difference would the proposed conversion mean for people in rural areas?

- For individuals it doesn't really matter very much. This is not much money, but for county councils and for municipalities that are allowed to take part of this money, it is of course welcomed because resources are strained.

What is it that S wants to show with this proposal?

- You want to clearly signal that you want to invest in the countryside and are ready to let the metropolitan regions take a larger part of the cost of saving welfare in the sparsely populated areas. It was something you already stated in the election analysis that you failed in the electoral movement. They are now trying to work with this, in order to increase confidence abroad in S's policy. This is one such proposal.

Can the government get through the proposal in Parliament?

- This is not unlikely since the Social Democrats have secured support both within the government, ie from the Environment Party, but also from the cooperation parties, the Center and the Liberals. These parties agree to move forward with this proposal in Parliament and many argue that it has good chances to go through. Otherwise, it would be required that all opposition parties, with the Sweden Democrats, go against it with the Left Party. But the exact position of the Left Party is unclear.
