“Information about such violations in these regions has been heard for five years, even in some Ukrainian media. Unfortunately, international human rights organizations are sluggishly reacting to the facts of violation of the rights of a citizen and a person by Kiev in the LPR and DPR. Nevertheless, for five years after the events in Ukraine, some reports of human rights defenders contained information about human rights violations, ”he said.
According to the expert, the Ukrainian side is still not inclined to a constructive dialogue with the leaders of the Donbass on a peaceful settlement of the situation.
Mezyuho emphasized that it was the lack of dialogue that casts doubt on the fact that the new Ukrainian government is initiating an “objective and comprehensive investigation into the violation of human rights by Ukrainian officials in relation to residents of the Donetsk and Lugansk regions”.
