American Justin Thomas has taken the lead in the BMW Championship, the third round of the play-offs at the end of the season on the North American Golf Circuit (PGA), after the third round disturbed by a storm Saturday in Medinah, near Chicago .

By making an incredible 61 card, 11 shots under the par, the 26-year-old broke the course record and took leadership with a total of 195 (-21), a place he had occupied Thursday at the end of the first round tie with his compatriot Jason Kokrak.

Friday, the Japanese Hideki Matsuyama had a record of 63, which allowed him to climb to the top of the ranking.

Justin Thomas, winner of the tournament in 2017, now has six shots ahead of a pair of Tony Finau and Patrick Cantlay.

Tiger Woods, who won this tournament in 1999 and 2006, has returned his lowest card since February, five-under par, after handing out two consecutive cards of 71.
