The Argentine Finance Minister sent Saturday his resignation letter to President Macri, two months away from a presidential election that promises to be complicated for him after the disavowal of the primaries and in a very gloomy economic climate for the country.
" We have achieved success in reducing public deficits and public spending ... but, without a doubt we made mistakes " These are the words of the Argentine Finance Minister Nicolás Dujovne, in his resignation letter to the President Macri.
A mea culpa that appears as the culmination of a very chaotic week for the Argentine economy, after the reverse of the outgoing president in the primaries of his political party Sunday, August 11: the stock market and the peso have not this week, and the rating agency Standard and Poor has lowered the rating of the sovereign debt of Argentina.
In an attempt to reassure his constituents to almost two months of elections, President Macri announced Wednesday a series of measures such as the freeze on gas prices, or the rise in the minimum wage.
Measures supposed to give respite to the Argentineans who have experienced a 40% inflation in the last 12 months: But even after these announcements, in his letter the resigning minister Nicolás Dujovne said he was convinced that a "significant renovation in the economic sector" was necessary. According to Argentine media , Nicolás Dujovne proposed his resignation to President Macri last Tuesday, but he preferred to announce his package of measures to relieve the middle class wallet.
Hernán Lacunza takes over
Nicolás Dujovne is replaced by Hernán Lacunza , in charge of the portfolio of the Economy in the government of the province of Buenso Aires.
Summoned to Hernán Lacunza to direct the Ministerio de Hacienda. Hasta Hoy disempowered como ministro in the province of Buenos Aires, honde a big trabajo. Su capacidad y trayectoria his reconocidas ampliamente. Confío in that is the persona indicada para esta nueva etapa
