Svetlana Kuznetsova, who is now 153rd in the world, qualified for the Cincinnati WTA tournament final on Saturday, beating Australia's Ashleigh Barty 6-2, 6-4, who could once again be number one in the event of a win.

"It's so amazing to play here on the central court, after my wounds in recent years," said the Saint Petersburg player.

"I'm back now and I do not feel the pressure, I never thought I would be back to that level so quickly, my tennis is good again," she added.

In this shock of the generations of the semi-finals, it is therefore Kuznetsova, 34, who won in just over an hour: the Russian, former world number 2 in 2007 with two Grand Slam tournaments to her Palmarès, did not let breathe Barty, current N.2 at 24, taking his service three times in the first set and then starting the second with a break.

For a 19th title on the WTA circuit, Kuznetsova will play in the final in Ohio against the winner of the match between two Americans, Sofia Kenin and Madison Keys.
