Atbara train .. messages of revolution and victory
In a remarkable symbolic expression, the Atbara train arrived in Khartoum from the city of Iron, Revolution and Struggle, the city of Atbara, which was the cradle of the revolution, from which it was launched in its early days.

The arrival of the train for the second time in Khartoum, packed with messages and activists, recalled its arrival in the first weeks of the revolution in support of the protesters, traveling more than 310 kilometers from Atbara north to Khartoum in the south, in about eight hours, carrying hundreds of railway workers and the people of Atbara city. He has to walk slowly because of the receivers at the stations he passed through.

The Atbara train turned into one of the icons of the revolution, and returned to the sit-throw and symbolism, and recalled a statement attributed to Nimeiri when he refused to create a road linking Atbara and Khartoum, fearing the arrival of the people of Atbara to the capital on their bikes to protest against him, where the people knew their fondness for bicycles.

Civil majority
On July 17, the junta signed a "political declaration" with the forces of the Declaration of Freedom and Change, endorsing the structures of the transitional authority (the Sovereign Council, the Council of Ministers, and the Legislative Council).

Under the agreement, the Sovereignty Council will be composed of 11 members; five civilians nominated by the Freedom Forces for Change and five from the military, while "Freedom and Change" forces will choose the prime minister. Under the agreement, the military will appoint the interior and defense ministers.

On August 4, the military council and the forces of freedom and change initialed the Constitutional Declaration document, mediated by the African Union.

The deal ended nearly eight months of unrest that began with mass demonstrations against President Omar al-Bashir and overthrew him in April, 30 years after Sudan's rule.

But many Sudanese question the ability of transitional institutions to rein in military forces during the three-year period before elections.
