Sudan's transitional military council and the forces of "freedom and change" in the capital Khartoum on Saturday signed the final documents for the transitional period.

The signing ceremony commenced with a regional and international presence of representatives of States and international organizations.

Presidents of Chad Idriss Deby, South Sudan's Silvakir Mayardit, Kenya's Uhuru Kenyatta, Ethiopian Prime Minister Abi Ahmed and Egypt's Mustafa Madbouli (representing the African Union), a number of foreign ministers and representatives of regional and international organizations attended the signing of the transitional period documents at the Khartoum Friendship Hall.

The Sudanese Military Council and the forces of the Declaration of Freedom and Change on August 4 initialed the constitutional document governing the three-year transitional period.

According to the timetable for the formation of the transitional government, the formation of the sovereign council will be announced on Sunday, and the appointment of the prime minister next Tuesday, and the formation of the government on August 28.
