Swedes' interest in train travel in other countries continues to persist.

In the spring it was predicted that sales of interrail cards this year would increase by around 60 percent compared to last year, when 17,000 cards were sold. Now the increase appears to be considerably greater.

During the first seven months of this year, 85 per cent more interrail cards were sold compared to the corresponding period last year, according to the company Silverrail, which distributes the service to Swedish dealers, writes Sydsvenskan.

- The first half of this year, the group of adults has increased, ie 28-60 years. It may be due to the debate about flying combs, but I believe more in the different factor, that one has tired of the usual charter trip to the Mediterranean, says Jonas Falk, sales manager at Silverrail, to the newspaper.
