Enthusiasts from all over the world have gathered at Stockholm University to participate in Wikimania. This year's theme is "Stronger Together," and that includes making Wikipedia more equal.

As it seems now, there are significantly more articles on men than on women in the encyclopedia. This is something that Sofie Jansson, a board member of Wikimedia, wants to change.

- We are an encyclopedia that will gather the world's common knowledge, and then it will be strange to only show a part of it, she says.

- We have been very good at printing women out of history.

Receives towing assistance from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs

Visitor Rosie Stephenson-Goodknight, who has authored Wikipedia articles for twelve years, agrees.

- We should all want to correct the mistakes in history, and by the mistakes I mean the exclusion of women in history, she says and continues:

- We all need, not just female editors.

The conference has help from the Swedish Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

- We can inspire those who want to write to write more about women and what women can and do, so this encyclopedia gets even better, says Annika Söder, Cabinet Secretary at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
