The mixed martial arts (MMA) fight that was to take place at the end of November in Basel and allow French rappers Booba and Kaaris to settle their differences will not take place, the Swiss regional authorities announced on Friday.

The room with 9,000 seats in St-Jakobshalle, the second largest in Switzerland, was to host on November 30 such a fight between the two stars, who had been sentenced to 18 months suspended sentence and 50,000 euros fine for their fight publicized at the Parisian airport of Orly.

At the beginning of August 2018, the images of this violent confrontation between the two men and nine of their relatives, in the airport hall and in front of stunned passengers, had made the rounds of media and social networks.

On Friday, the education department of the canton of Basel, which owns the theater, announced that after consulting the local and regional police, it had canceled the authorization initially given for the fight.

"After analyzing the security situation, it is clear (...) that this event can not take place," he wrote in a statement.

The department claims to have been "deceived" as to the exact nature of the event organized.

Brother enemies of French rap after being close, Elie Yaffa said Booba, 42, "the Duke of Boulogne", who has sold more than two million records in nine albums and five mixtapes since 2002, and Armand Gnakouri Okou, aka Kaaris , 39, have not stopped since the fight of Orly to launch spades, in the tradition of rap clash.

A Swiss promoter announced at the end of March a contract of "one and a half million euros for the winner and (of) 500,000 euros for the loser".
