Sarah Al Qubaisi, a health and safety student at Abu Dhabi University, succeeded in turning her disability into achievements and participated in many international and Olympic championships, where she won more than 15 local and international medals to raise her country's name in international forums.

She told Emirates Today, “I chose sports as a means of expressing myself and proving my ability to succeed, and considered it a means to achieve my dreams. I participated in local and international sports tournaments and achieved first positions in most of them.” And everyone tried to discourage this desire, because of her illness and her inability to move without a wheelchair, but she was able to achieve her wish and learned the sport of horse riding, and participated in the first ability race organized in Abu Dhabi for people of determination.

"My disability was not an obstacle to me any day," she said. "In addition to being a wife and mother of three, I work for the Environment Agency in Abu Dhabi, besides my studies. Whoever wants to do something will not be challenged."

Sarah noted the services provided by the state to the people of determination, which helped them a lot to overcome the challenges, pointing out that the most challenge facing the people of determination is to get the education they wish, especially at the university level, where there are universities that refuse to receive people of determination.
