La Cigale: she has been singing for more than 130 years
La Cigale has retained the charm of these places designed in the 19th century. This beautiful room on a human scale was first a coffee-concert for 40 years (from 1887 to 1927). The biggest names in the music hall have performed like Maurice Chevalier or Arletty. During the war, it will become a cinema, before sinking long years into oblivion. The rebirth dates from 1987.
That year, two ex-junk dealers reopened the room and entrusted the artistic direction to Corinne Mimram. This young woman of 25 years will make this place a must in Paris. Today, she is still in charge and remembers her debut and her first programming.
