The suspect is a 32-year-old man from a small town in northern Jämtland.
Chamber Prosecutor Henrik Olin, in his arrest request, has demanded that the man be arrested on probable grounds suspected of being stamped for terrorist offenses. Probable reasons are the higher level of suspicion.
The man was arrested the day before yesterday in central Östersund after the police received an alert about a motorist who "drove strange" at Stortorget. According to witnesses SVT talked to, he should have driven relatively slowly and there should not have been very many people nearby. However, when police arrived at the scene, it became a shorter car chase before the suspect drove into a concrete foundation on Samuel Perman's street.
