A flight of the Transavia company between Paris and Barcelona was canceled on Thursday by the arrest of a man carrying a ceramic knife that was intended to get on board at the Orly airport in the French capital.
A spokeswoman for Paris Airports (ADP) explained to Efe that a member of the detainee's family called shortly before to warn that the suspect intended to commit an attack.
The spokeswoman said that behind this incident, which occurred after 6:00 p.m. local time (4:00 p.m. GMT), there could be a family dispute.
All passengers were evicted from the aircraft and the police made a thorough search inside, but found nothing suspicious. In any case, the flight was postponed until Friday. That necessitated the search for accommodation solutions for travelers.
The rest of the operations that took place at Orly airport were not affected, according to ADP.
The station "RTL", which was the one that revealed the information, indicated that it was the couple of the man arrested who alerted the company that manages the airport after a marital dispute.
The suspect is not signed for terrorism but has a history of common crime.
