“Over the past day, 70 forest fires on an area of 111 thousand 971 ha have been eliminated in Russia,” the FBI “Avialesohrana” quotes TASS.
It is specified that the largest number of fires (34) is in the Irkutsk region, the area covered 88 thousand 410 hectares with fire.
2 thousand 626 people, 214 units of equipment and 26 aircraft were involved in the extinguishing.
Earlier, FBI Avialesohrana reported that a high, sometimes extreme fire hazard level is predicted on August 17-18 in the Siberian Federal District.
