Grapes with cotton candy are snapped up in the foodstuffs among the fruit stalls. A success, writes the Wall Street Journal, which is now also conquering the web and forever changing the American grape landscape. The producers immediately started looking for other candy-like varieties, some of which have just arrived on the market. One of these is the taste of soda that is slowly taking away bean after bean, the leader in the clusters of that of cotton candy. What was there before? Before that, there were mainly three versions of green, red and black grapes, varieties that have what the producers of the sector call a "mild neutral" taste.

Last year, grape growers in California, the largest producers in the United States, produced 93 varieties compared to 75 in 2010. Names aside, the new varieties of
grapes are produced through traditional horticultural techniques and reproduction plants to highlight certain qualities, such as crunchy texture or sweet taste. It takes about
12 years for the marketing of a new species of grape.
