The NGO Open Arms ship, with 147 migrants and refugees on board, is already anchored in the waters of Italy, hours after Interior Minister Matteo Salvini expressly prohibited the entry of the ship into Italian territory.

"Already anchored in Italian waters with authorization from the authorities. Salvini's decree has ceased to take effect despite the threats of a new one," the NGO announced this morning, one day after the Lazio Administrative Court Authorize this movement.

Now the ship expects some permission to dock at the port and disembark the migrants. "A long night, but the end is approaching," said the organization.

However, tonight, Salvini had reported on Twitter that he had signed a "new ban" to prevent the entry into Italian waters of the 'Open Arms'. In his opinion, "who works to reopen the ports does not do so out of resentment to Salvini, harms the Italian people."

In its opinion, the Italian court had accepted the appeal made by the Spanish NGO against the Ministry of Interior, Defense and Infrastructure, in light of the "situation of exceptional gravity and urgency", given that much of The rescued have been on board for more than thirteen days.

Therefore, it has authorized "the entry of the 'Open Arms' ship in Italian territorial waters" and that with it "immediate assistance be provided to rescued persons", as has already been done "in the most critical cases", in reference to the evacuation of two babies and their families to Italy in the last hours.
