It was on April 27, 2017, that more than 200 nationalist protesters entered the parliament building capital Skopje. Social Democrats leader Zoran Zajev was mildly injured in a fight that broke out in connection with the storm.

Arrested on Skavsta

SVT News Sörmland has previously stated that the 39-year-old is suspected to have been one of 68 people who threw chairs and threatened politicians, parliamentarians and journalists during the storm.

The man was arrested after being stopped by police at Skavsta Airport where he arrived on April 7 this year. He has since been detained in Sweden for four months.

HD: Political crime

Northern Macedonia, as the country is now called, demanded the man extradited for "terrorist jeopardizing of constitutional order and security". The prosecutor saw no barriers to extradition, but the Supreme Court makes a different assessment.

HD states that it is a political crime and that extradition would thus conflict with Swedish law.

The man himself has stated that his wife and children, who still live in Northern Macedonia, are being persecuted by several people who should have said he would be badly off if he returned.
