The month of July 2019 was the hottest ever measured in the world, said Thursday the US atmospheric agency NOAA, confirming observations made by the European Union a few days ago.
"Most of the planet has experienced unprecedented heat in July, with temperatures hitting new highs in the hottest month ever," said the US news agency, adding that the record heat has also "reduced ice in the Arctic and Antarctic seas at historically low levels ".
