Foreign Minister Kono talks with Serbian Foreign Minister Agreed to expand investment by Japanese companies August 15 23:54

Foreign Minister Kono, visiting Europe, agreed to talk with Foreign Minister Dacic in Serbia, Yugoslavia, and cooperate to expand investment by Japanese companies.

Foreign Minister Kono visited Serbia in the former Yugoslavia for the first time in 18 years as a Japanese Foreign Minister on the night of the 15th, Japan, and met with Foreign Minister Dacic.

At the meeting, the two foreign ministers agreed to cooperate for further investment expansion based on the increasing number of Japanese companies operating in Serbia.

Minister Kono also stated that in order to maintain peace in the former Yugoslavia region, the stability of Serbia is important, and he said that he would support Serbia's EU membership in the economic field.

In a joint press release after the meeting, Minister Kono said, “It is important for more Japanese companies to know the attractive business environment of Serbia with high-quality human resources.”
