Ajman Police Headquarters has succeeded in controlling traffic and reducing serious accidents, deaths and congestion in the emirate during the Eid Al-Adha period, recording a 17% decrease in the number of serious accidents.

The Director of Traffic and Patrols Department, Lt. Col. Saif Abdullah Al-Falasi, said that the traffic during the Eid was characterized by the smooth flow in all roads, as a result of the efforts made by 45 patrols deployed, in order to avoid accidents and secure traffic, which was reflected in the decrease in the number of serious accidents by 17%, Compared to the same period last year, there were five incidents of run over, due to crossing from unauthorized pedestrian areas, calling on drivers to abide by the route and keep away from wrong practices, and make sure the street is free of pedestrians, especially in residential neighborhoods.

He called on individuals to exercise caution and cross from pedestrian areas to avoid incidents of run over.

He added that the Department recorded 240 minor accidents, a decrease of 42%, and did not record any deaths due to accidents during the holiday, pointing out that the minor accidents recorded due to the failure of drivers to comply with the guidelines and traffic laws, and non-compliance with speed limits on the roads.

Al Falasi stressed that traffic safety has been achieved in the Emirate as a result of proper planning and distribution of traffic patrols in the places of Eid chapels, and provide traffic and security, in addition to distribution in tourist areas and public places.
