The Ministry of Education is ready to study the idea of e-sports lessons in schools
The Russian Ministry of Education is ready to consider in detail the proposal of the Internet Development Institute to organize elective e-sports classes in schools, the department’s press service said.
“The Ministry is ready to familiarize itself with the institute’s proposals in more detail if they are received,” RIA Novosti reports.
Employees of the department noted that game sports are actively used in the educational process, as well as in the organization of extracurricular activities.
At the same time, specialized thematic lessons on IT technologies and programming include competitive elements.
However, the Ministry of Education also urged not to forget about the safety and health of children, which could be adversely affected by the active use of various gadgets.
“We note the importance of the safety and health of children when it comes to various gadgets and their impact on the teenage body,” the Russian department emphasized.
Earlier, RT wrote that the Internet Development Institute prepared an appeal to the Minister of Education Olga Vasilyeva with the initiative to organize elective e-sports classes in several schools in each region of Russia.
