Climber from Irkutsk Sergey Voylichenko died in Kyrgyzstan while climbing the Victory Peak.

“He died during the descent from Victory Peak at an altitude of about 6 thousand meters above sea level, fell off a cliff,” RIA Novosti quoted the travel agency Aksai Travel.

Search and rescue operations are currently underway. They are complicated by bad weather conditions.

Victory Peak is located in the Issyk-Kul region in northern Kyrgyzstan on the Kokshaal ridge on the border with China, its height is 7439 meters.

On August 5, it was reported that rescuers of the Kyrgyz Emergencies Ministry in the Osh region discovered the body of a climber from Russia, who stopped contacting a few days ago.
