It is still difficult to talk about large-format economic cooperation, ”the expert said.

He noted that this statement of the Lithuanian leader should not be considered as a factor in the further development of a productive dialogue between the two countries.

“So far, we have no serious contracts and serious projects with Lithuania for which we could“ cling to ”and say that the cooperation is mutually beneficial ... I would accept this statement from Nauseda as calmly as possible, with minimal optimism,” Topornin added.

Nauseda said earlier that it is difficult for Lithuania to have contacts with Russia at a high political level, but this does not negate the need for cooperation in the fields of economy and culture.
